Almost anything sounds great, in theory.
I’m quite fond of the incubation phase, fostering new ideas, sketching out my best laid plans and rarely taking the daring leap required to let them ever see the light of day.
I’ve started and abandoned more passion projects than I care to count (or admit) and while I am certainly a proponent of leaving behind shoes that don’t fit and making your peace with what you thought was for you that you later realized wasn’t— growing a tiny human inside you has a way of making you pause and reconsider the way you move about the world and what example you want to set for this little person soon to be following in your footsteps.
There’s certainly a lot of things of mine I hope she inherits— my curly locks, my long spindly legs, my taste in music, my love of art and sense of humor; but not so much my fear of failure or lack of discipline to see things through.
I want her to charge after her wildest dreams fearlessly and confidently, no matter how slow moving it may seem in the beginning or how much resistance she encounters along the way. I want her to keep going and not give up until the thing she desires is tangible within her little hands.
So, in an effort at leaning into something I’ve always dreamed of doing but have always been afraid to jump head first into— I’ve decided to finally take the leap and branch out from my personal photography hobby to start taking on real human clients.
I’ve had a love of photos ever since I can remember. From posing for endless family photos in front of my grandma’s polaroid to capturing my childhood adventures on Kodak disposables— documenting life through images is something very near and dear to my heart. I long to give those very moments back to you in a tangible form you can return to and relive.
I enjoy capturing the authentic and ethereal. The raw, imperfect moments that make up a life. To evoke emotion and essence from my subject. To tell a story where words seem to fall short.
Most of my experience thus far is rooted in photographing nature and stills from my travels or personal life, but I’m looking to slowly build my portfolio in lifestyle and portrait photography from individuals to couples and families.
